William Rutherfoord’s work is graphic, painterly, urgent and timeless. Forces that seem opposing and contradictory, nestle like spoons.

Bill does not do editorial illustration for a living. He lives in Roankoe,Virginia where he paints pictures of the world from his basement. This piece is called “A great Shaking”. Bill Rutherfoord, an academic and teacher for many years, now has the luxury of painting in his basement, in Roanoke Virginia.
